Just got my hands on my first Graflex, been wanting one for years and took a gamble on an untested but clean looking 3x4 on auction and with a drop of oil on the aperture winding key it came free and ran beautifully!
Maybe too beautifully, because it seems to be running 4x faster than it should(estimation from high speed camera footage) so what's the cure here? Is there grease missing somewhere? Is the tension too high? Tension selection mechanism actually at max when it's indicating a 1?
Also having issues getting it to click into the 1/8 aperture setting but that seems common? Curtain swell or pooly packed, will try running it through a few times to see if it packs better, but I can live without the 1/8 slit honestly.
Thanks! |
