I can't get the infinity set on my Miniature Speed Graphic. I have followed the instructions from the Kalart manual but can't get the images to merge. On page 5 of the manual it shows and tells how to set infinity , but part No. 11 can't be adjusted far enough to raise the movable image into infinity focus. Any ideas would be appreciated .

thanks--tom

The Miniature Speed Graphic may have a Type F rangefinder which has a silver colored body.

Its possible the set screw on the actuator arm has slipped on the rangefinder shaft. The set screw is a hex head 3/16. The actuator shaft (brass shaft that goes through the side of the body) must be held in the fully retracted position as well as the actuator arm. Not an easy task.

This Miniature Speed has the black Kalart. Thanks for the link to the photos of the F Kalart. Mine does have the rangefinder arm as in the photo. So can I loosen the nut and adjust the infinity ? Or, do I need to hold the shaft stationary before loosening the nut ?

If you cannot adjust infinity with the Foot or Infinity Screw then you must adjust the actuating arm on the rangefinder shaft. The rangefinder shaft must be held in the rails fully retracted position while the arm is repositioned.
The spring action of the internal levers will tend to move the shaft to the closest focused position when the arm set screw is loosened.
