|
|
I recently received an RH-10 back (for 2x3) with a broken darkslide. The end with the pull-tab got snapped off clean in the mails.
I have fabricated a temporary replacement for the darkslide using material cut from a black plastic report binder. It works passably well, but I would like a solution that gives better confidence.
Any suggestions? Will the darkslide of a 2x3 cutfilm holder fit the graflex rollfilm holder?
Thanks! |

The slide from a 2X3 cut film holder won't fit. What I do is cut a slide from a 3X4 or 4X5 cut film holder slide. Sand the edges smooth and you're good to go. _________________ Glenn

Don't forget all that wonderful info available over on Graflex.org. Periodic reviews are helpful.
According to the section on film pack adapters:
"The dark slide for the 2"x3" holder is the same as the dark slide for the 2"x3" roll film holders, so they can be good replacement sources."
Again, this was in the section for film packs. |

Not sure that I should jump in here, but here goes:
The dark slide from a 2x3 wood type 5 cut film holder is exactly the same size as the original dark slide for one of my 2x3 RH-10s, and I use it successfully as it came with the back when I purchased it.
Also works with a RH-8
Somewhere on this board someone else said basiclly the same thing a long time ago.

Hope that this helps. |

These replies are most helpful, thanks!
Can anyone here say whether darkslides for the Mamiya RB67 and/or RZ67 backs can be used as replacements for the Graflex darkslides? |

I can say with certainty the Mamiya slides are totally different. The last time I tried a slide from a 2X3 cut film holder it was too short. I think. My memory ain't what it used to be. _________________ Glenn

Ok, thanks again everyone. It seems the best option will be to find a darkslide from a 2x3 sheet film holder. |

2x3 pack holders and 2x3 roll holders use exactly the same darkslide, this is how I replaced a missing one in my 23 outfit. They pop-up frequently on the Bay. |
