Hi, I purchased another crown graphic on ebay, because it was local and fairly cheap I paid about $160 with shipping. It came with one film holder and a polaroid back. It's in what appears to be good working condition.

When it arrived I noticed it was not 4x5.

ANGRY!

But do I have a good reason to be? I went back, and it seems obvious that the seller knew he was materially misrepresenting the product through omission of key details and good product photography with well placed shadows.

But I do have a combi plan t tank that will develop the film

and I should be able to make up some sort of mask to handle the oddball sized negatives.

Film isn't that expensive.

What about holders? Are they readily available?

Well I'm assuming you ended up with a 3x4 as a 2x3 is pretty easy to spot.

Film holders are available, as is black and white film, not a great number of emulsions, but you use what you find to it's greatest good.

The biggest drawback with a 3x4 is the scarcity of roll filmholders. Graflex did make a knob wind back in both 2x2 and 2x3, and I think suydam and tatro made them too, but they are a bit awkward.

If you think in terms of sheet film only then it's not so bad.

When you say mask for the oddball size negatives, I'm assuming you mean for the enlarger. If you have an omega D series, 3x4 neg carriers are available through ebay. Or you can use a glass carrier and tape off the excess.

I once had a 4 x 5 roll holder that someone had ground down to fit 3 x 4. I guess it can be done, so might not be to hard to do.

All is not lost Bobby...I've a 120 Graphic Roll Film Back with mine,BUT,make sure you get the right 'mask',otherwise if you use the wire frame you are bound to cut heads off.

I cut one out of cardboard to size and placed it in the viewfinder.Don't raise the frame,this way you won't have any accidents.

Enjoy the camera,but make sure you have the right mask.
