Curious if any information is out there as to how to figure out how old it is? Recently inherited it. On tri-pod, with a 'Sliding Carriage: Two lenses. Is it possible to get attachments for this model? |

Mark;
Welcome to the world of Graflex.org!!
A help on establishing the age of Graflex cameras by their serial numbers is the post in the "Serial Number Savy" forum titled "Not the Serial Number Book list But.." by Shutterfinger.
Attachments for most Graflex cameras are available on the second hand market, although "4 Sail" and "Wanted" posts are frowned upon on these forums.
eB** and some other websites are good sources for finding such items.

Wollensak Lens catalogs are available at http://www.cameraeccentric.com/html/info.html .
According to some previous posts the serial number, if used, was stamped into the rear standard cross member. The back has to be tilted or swing applied to see it. I have (sold) a Kodak 2D that is Labled Eastman Kodak and does not have a serial number. I would also check the back frame around the bellows for a ink stamped serial number if one can not be found on the rear standard frame. The serial number should be 5 digits for pre 191? cameras and 6 digits there after. _________________ The best camera ever made is the one that YOU enjoy using and produces the image quality that satifies YOU. |
