| I,m new to these cameras.I have this 2x3 which I bought without a lens.I know it had a 105 m.m.fitted originally and presumably the rangefinder is set for this.I now have a 90m.m.raptar which I have fitted.When I set the infinity stops for the new lens they are so far back they interfere with the bed joint and prevent it closing.Is this lens unuseable on this camera or am I doing something wrong.Regards Dave |

Its usable, you're doing something wrong.
The classic solution to your problem is to use just one infinity stop, on the left inner bed rail. To set up the camera, flip the stop down, pull the front standard out, flip to stop up, and push the front standard back until it hits the stop. You can't put a stop on the right side, it will interfere with the RF linkage.
Fred Lustig insists that the classic solution is wrong and sinful. If nothing else, with just one bed stop unintended swing is possible.
Fred's solution is to make a spacer that rides on the rails and goes between the front standard (on the inner rails) and the stops (on the outer rails). The spacer should have a T- or top hat-shaped cross section so that it is well located laterally on the rails. Also a cut out for the little tab that unlocks shift and protrudes from the front of the front standard.
When I needed another one -- long story -- SKGrimes made one for me. You might give Adam a call and talk it over, he just might remember the job. |

Yikes it is so...
I set up my 2x3 Speed with the 90Raptar and looks like two stops might work behind on mine, but checks out ok on Crown model being shorter with stops in front...
Pretty soft image on GG compared to the 101 to 105 standard lenses unless stopped down.

| Many thanks.Simple solutions are always the best.I,ve just had a quick look and I think a stop will go both sides even if I need to cut off one of the screw tabs.Glad I asked since I was considering removing a tab on each stop in the hope that it would clear the hinge.Will come back.Is there a speed graphic equivalent of a car breakers yard.I need a focussing hood for this camera.Regards Dave |

the breakers yard used to be the drawer behind the counter at the far end of every camera store.
Now it's ebay.

| Yep it worked I got one stop on one side and of course the rail is different on the rangefinder side so I scribed a line on that side to ensure the standard is square.Thanks again Dave |
