Turn the CAPS LOCK OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
summit only once.
Buy a Linoff, or TOYO. A Crown will not do what you want it to without reengineering it.

Hi, I may be a bit slower than the average bear but if what you say is correct, then I am puzzled.
"....HOWEVER I WANT TO SHOOT VERTICAL PORTRAITS WITH A TILT SO THE BOTTOM FALLS OUT OF FOCUS. HERE IS MY DELIMA THE CAMERA ONLY TILTS TOP TO BOTTOM"
I thought that if you want the bottom to be OOF in portrait then by loosening the bottom screws/knurled knobs on the front standard then swinging the bottom of the lens panel rearward, you would achieve this??? I have just set up my Crown and done this and it seems to work.
BTW, keep the caps on, it makes for easier reading for us with poor eyes.

Well actually a Super Graphic would work as it as a rotating back and the front will tilt the lens down.
On my Crowns, I can only tilt the lens board toward the sky. I can only acheive a front down tilt by dropping the bed and then not fully correcting it.

BUT, if you tilt the front plane (the lens panel) forward so it points at the sky, tilt the whole camera down so your subject is in the middle of the frame, focus the middle of the frame on the subject, then the foreground will be OOF. Especially if the lens is more toward the "open" end of the f stops. Okay, it is not the "standard" way of doing it but neither is doing it in the darkroom by tilting the easel and that can be done too!!

would it be acceptable to make your exposure using the crown set up normally so you can use the tilt and then simply crop your image into a verticle print?
