It weighs 200 lbs, according to the desciption, but the shipping is only $35 and it has a simple single handle on the top for carrying?
Also, what WOULD one photograph with a 30" focal length? The moon? |

One would use a 30" lens on the 4" x 5" format to shoot the same things that would call for a 200mm to 300mm lens on the 35mm format.
30"is six times the long way of the 4" x 5" format, 200mm is 5.56 times and 300mm is 8.33 times the long way of the 35mm film format.

I see what you're saying. Still, this is not terribly maneuverable. You wouldn't be doing much wildlife photography with something like this. I suppose you could get some cool moon shots, however.
It's still an interesting piece, and I am glad it got posted here. Just another possibility with a Speed Graphic! |

adamgarrickrobins,
I believe you put one too many zero's after the two on the wieght....it's 20lbs instead of 200. |

Nope, the real point of the box is to support the lens and the camera. A dinky little piece of plastic pipe won't do. |
