I used Tetra Gun Grease (Fluoropolymer Grease) since it was on hand. It is marketed as a modern replacement for Lubriplate use in firearms. It appears to work appropriately.

: Someone recently posted a message stating that for the
: Crown Graphic "the specified lubricant is #107
: Lubriplate". I called Lubriplate today and they said
: that, while #107 might be good for lubricating cameras,
: their #105--which is a slightly lighter variation of
: the #107--would probably be better.
:
: How critical is the EXACT kind of grease have to be for
: lubricating the rails of the Crown Graphic?

: Was #105 Lubriplate RECOMMENDED BY GRAFLEX 35 or 40
: years ago, and throughout Crown's history, or was this
: a personal recommendation by someone OUTSIDE the
: company?

: Also, both the #107 and #105 Lubriplate DO NOT DRY
: after applying--and yet the person who posted the
: earlier message said to "just use a lubricant which is
: drying after applying, so it won;t collect dust and
: dirt."

: Thanks.
