I've talked with Gerald off line, and we both agree that while this lens is phyically useable, it will be a pain to use.
An 8" Tele would be much better, and since they aren't as common, any of these would suffice and are much cheaper and plentyful 162mm Optar, 152 Optar, 135mm Optar
