Help me with the extension issue.

Assuming the Mini Speed Graphic has the same
bellows extension as the Century 2 x 3 Speed
and with a max extension of only 150 mm, how
could the 8" tele-Optar, which requires 180mm
extension, achieve focus? What does "short
bellows draw" mean? And won't the amt of bellows
rqd differ as a function of the distance from lens
to object? When I focus at infinity with my
current 101mm (standard) lens I need much less
draw than when I focus on an object at 4 ft.

The limit of bellows draw is around 150mm for a non-telephoto lens. The 8" Tele Optar telephoto is a true telephoto, which means that even with its 203mm focal length, it has a short bellows draw of 180mm."

: So, it seems a 250mm would be even longer, right? Furthermore, the rangefinder won't focus beyoud 135mm.

: Might as well end with some good news. If you solve the extension problem, there is a focusing scale for that lens. Look for scale # 30881-32.
