Is anything in focus in your images? You may try
a test shot with several objects, each of which is a different
distance from the lens. If none of them are in focus, the problem
isn't the back. Are you using a cable release? Is the camera steady
on the tripod? Could be the lens, since it is hard to be sure an
image is truly tack/razor sharp by looking at the glas. Do you have
(or can you borrow)another lens?
