200 -- 400 ASA should do fine on a bright day.
You want to get the shutter speed up around 1/125
to 1/500 so you don't get blur. You're not too
concerned with depth of field at that distance,
so f/8 will do fine. Use the camera's meter, make
sure you point it down at the ground without
taking in a lot of sky, because that will give
a false reading for the ground detail and make it
too dark. If you can set the camera to give you an
f/stop when you
-set the shutter speed, that's
how you want to do it. I forget which priority
