After a couple of moves, and a few years with all my camera and darkroom equipment packed away in stacks of boxes in various storage units, attics and basements, I've got the urge to shoot again.

In the process of bringing everything back into the light, and in a lot of cases re-buying things that have gone inexplicably missing, I find myself doing a lot of repair and maintenance work on my equipment. Thanks to the critically important efforts of so many, every manual I've wanted to reference is easily available online.

I've found that much of what I want to reference was scanned 20 or 30 years ago, when storage was at a premium, and fast, hires scanners were expensive to come by. The net of it is that much of it seems to be scanned as black and white bitmaps, making some of the illustrations of parts and mechanisms extremely hard to understand.

I recognize this probably comes across as a criticism of those who have kept this material alive into the current day, but that's not intended at all. And in the spirit of being part of the solution, I am more than happy to help with scanning, hosting, and even curating a permanent place for the docs at the Manual Library on the Internet Archive.

What I don't have is a great idea about how to get started. Any thoughts?
