I'm having a tough time replacing and calibrating the the mirror in my Kalart side mounted rangefinder on my Century Graphic 23.

If this job is proving too difficult for me, is there someone whom you could recommend to take on this small repair job?

As always, thanks for your help.

John

The Kalart manual is available at https://graflex.org/speed-graphic/kalart-manual.html and a better copy at https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1sPJkp-Mdghc0FwQkRuWEhFZEE/view?usp=sharing
IF it does not want to adjust then fully disassemble it taking pictures as you go, clean in 90% Isopropyl Alcohol, apply a trace of machine oil (not 3in1 or WD40) on the pivots and a trace of light grease on the sliding parts. A trace is a just detectable sheen, more will act like glue.
The Kalart uses a 50/50 beamsplitter that the coating can go bad on requiring replacement. Ebay and https://www.edmundoptics.com/ are two sources. You may have to cut it to size. New materials are thinner than the original and will require shimming to fit.

You can read the Kalart info at https://lommen9.home.xs4all.nl/kalartmain/index.html but take the info with a grain or two of salt.

Another thread on beamsplitters https://www.photrio.com/forum/threads/replacement-beam-splitter-glass.177690

You can send it to me if all else fails.
