I am trying to find information out about what I thought was a Speed Graphic, but on some of the online Serial Number Identifying resources, it lists as a Crown. Does anyone have a more definitive resource that may give some details about this camera?

Thanks,

Ted

By the time s/n 887067 was issued (8/20/53) Graflex was using the same batches of serial numbers for Pacemaker Crown Graphics and Pacemaker Speed Graphics. The serial number you have carries no information about which model camera it belongs to. The only thing that can be said about it is that it was assigned to a 4x5 press camera.

If you want to know which model the camera is, look at it. Speeds have a focal plane shutter, Crowns don't.

If your camera has a wind up key on the right hand side like this linked photo, then it has a focal plane shutter and is a Speed; otherwise it's a Crown.

Thanks guys. I am aware of the body types, but was uncertain the seller knew what he was selling. Turns out it is indeed a Speed Graphic, with a 135 Optar lens, a whole bunch of decent holder and a case.[/img]
