Link to my Flickr album:

What back do I have?
What back should I get to use the roll film back AND sheet film. I have two #5 sheet film holders but no way to attach them currently.

https://www.flickr.com/photos/rwl7532/sets/72157650053033651/

The camera came with no ground glass.

The camera is 1946 based on the lens.

You have a roll film holder attached to a Spring Back with a highly sought after adapter kit. Remove the screw at the top and bottom center of the roll film holder, lift the roll film holder off and attach the ground glass (focus panel) for a Spring back using the same screws and slide a sheet film holder in. The technically correct name is Graphic back.

Thanks, I'll keep a lookout for that.
I see KEH has an ugly SG for $84 apparently with GG.

mmmmm.

It looks like you have a Graphic 23 RFH so the only advantage to using sheet film is being able to process a single sheet for a special exposure as the actual negative area is within 2mm of one another and there is a much wider selection of emulsions available in 120.

The serial number of the camera is ink stamped on the under side of the camera top, post it to get a more accurate DOM.

That ugly $84 camera at KEH is a 2x3 Pacemaker Speed with a complete Graflok back.

Picture of stamp added to the Flickr album.

I'm reading 390093.
First two numbers are scratched on but that's what I make out.

The KEH ugly's picture is not of the item.
"W/SIDE RANGE FINDER; W/TOP VIEW FINDER; W/SPRING BACK; W/101 F4.5 EKTAR"

Is the description which is all we have to rely on.

And the lens is most likely the factory original for your mid year 1946 Miniature Speed Graphic.

KEH sometimes pictures the actual item but their descriptions are correct 99.9% of the time. By the time you add shipping the cost will be $100-$105 + any sales tax your state requires then to collect. Fair price but not a great buy.

....

In 1946, how much would a miniature Speed Graphic cost?

See page 4 http://www.cameraeccentric.com/html/info/graflex_9.html
I know of no price list from '46 on the web.

Oh, and by the way, pray that your camera's rangefinder is properly set up for the lens now on it. If it isn't or if you ever want to use a different lens you'll need a complete back with focusing panel to be able to adjust the RF or focus the different lens.

That's on my list of hopes!

Pray, really?
Its easy enough to check.
1. Mount the camera on a tripod.
2. Remove the film insert and darkslide.
3. Run strips of transparent tape next to each other across the film opening attaching it to the innermost rails as film will be when installed. You can also put the tape on a piece of glass or clear solid plastic cut to fit the film opening like film. Tape side must face the lens.
4. Set the FPS to O and open the Supermatic on T.
5. Focus on subjects at Infinity, 25 feet, 15 feet, 8 feet and 4 feet from the Film Plane. Use a loupe to check your temporary gg and verify that the RF shows in focus when the gg is in focus.

Make a temporary GG. I like it.
I have thin glass here and my sandblaster.
I etched glass on a commission basis years ago.
Likely not as fine as needed - tape will be much better.

My morning test of my Gossen meter shows it thinks too much light, maybe 1 1/2 stops too much. First time I had used the meter. I used my Nikon N80 and film identical to the 120 in the mini SG.

Etched glass pics are way down at the bottom of my Flickr photostream.
Username same as here.
