Hello,
Wondering about digitizing 35mm, 120 and 4X5 negatives. My scanner is no longer compatible with Windows and technology. Decided to fiddle with using my D90 to photograph the negatives using an iPad as a light source. Actually worked fundamentally. Managed to convert the BW negative to positive with open source software and print. It works but needs refinement.
One concern is the lower resolution?? of my older Nikon D90 with a pretty good 1:1 Macro lens, which only has half the resolution as the next generation Nikon DSLR. Nikons with 24 Megapixels can be gotten fairly cheaply. Should I consider another used brand of camera that could take the Nikon lenses.
Trying to cut costs on processing of my Graflex 4X5.
Thank for any insight
