Over priced. Look closely at the second row of pictures 3rd and 4th from left. Those spots on the inside of the glass are a potential problem.

Seller is looking for a collector wanting to sit it on their shelf.

thanks Banjo, but yeah that is quite expensive.

Or at least , its more than I'm thinking to spend (I saw an Ektar 203mm go for less than $100 a few days back...but before it had become clear that this lens would be good for me, so I didn't bid).

45PSS, I thought marks on the back of the lens were not such an issue. Or have I got that the wrong way round, and it's the front that needn't be in perfect condition?

does that lens have X sync? I can see two different M settings, and then there's an F which looks like it also has an X next to it but its not so clear (FX? flash sync?)

Scratches on/in the rear element are more detrimental to image quality than scratches on the front.

The auction lens has what looks like mold spots inside the lens. It could also be coating separation or fungus that etches the glass.
---
That is a "Full Sync Shutter". The Black M is used with the 100 and 200 speeds, the Red M is used with speeds 50 and longer. F-X is used for gas filled flash bulbs or electronic flash at any of the available speeds. Off turns the flash sync off so no flash occurs with flash equipment connected.
