Greetings. I'm looking for help in attaching a synch cord so that I can use an electronic flash on my Speed. The lens is a 135mm Graphex with two prongs for the electrical connection.
Question: What kind of cords are out there? Are there adapters that allow you to go from two-prong to a standard end, or do you have to have a dedicated cord? All my Googling and Yahooing has yielded little info., so I'm hoping someone here can sort it out for me. Thanks. |

The two pins on the Graphex shutter are called a Bi post connector.
Hot shoe flash sockets are called PC.
Some handle mount flashes use a two blade socket that takes a plug similar to common electrical plugs and are called Household. Studio strobes may use 1/4 inch mono plugs or 1/8 inch mono plugs.
You need a BiPost to whatever type plug the flash you wish to use requires. Check the Pro photo shops in your area as they may have what you need in stock. _________________ The best camera ever made is the one that YOU enjoy using and produces the image quality that satifies YOU. |

Thanks guys. I also discovered a DIY solution using an old PC cord and two small alligator clamps. Cheap, but effective. |

electric razor power cords are reported to fit the bi post pins. I have not tried one. _________________ The best camera ever made is the one that YOU enjoy using and produces the image quality that satifies YOU. |

Note that the Paramount bipost socket and the household plug have right-angle mounts, which is not the case with the razor cords that I've seen. For our equipment, the right-angle mounting would seem to be much preferable to a straight-out arrangement. |

I have... the ones I tried don't fit... and I concluded that this is either an internet fantasy or back in the "good old days" the razor cords were different from today. |

I stumbled across a Norelco cord that will fit. I assume a Remington cord will work also.
Cords from razors made from the late 50's through the 70's or 80's may work (cord plugs into the razor body).
I don't use razors of any kind and my trimmer charging cord definitely will not work. _________________ The best camera ever made is the one that YOU enjoy using and produces the image quality that satifies YOU. |
