Dear all,
My lens is jammed and i was wondering ( from your experiences ) if it easier/cheaper to buy a new lens than repairing it.
My camera is a Crown Graphic and Kreuznach Xenar 135mm f4.7 lens
Thank you for your help

How do you mean jammed?
Aperture blades frozen/will not move?
Shutter will not operate?

I think you can find a similar shutter and replace a jammed one with it. _________________ MFRFFC |

Send it to a shutter repair facility/person and have them evaluate it. Many times a jammed shutter is as easy to service as a slow running one.
I recommend removing the lens cells from the shutter before sending them out for service. The cells should unscrew from the shutter and use standard right hand threads, turn right to tighten, turn left to unscrew. The cells are sometimes stuck from age and you have to use a rubber strap wrench or jar opening aid to unscrew them. _________________ The best camera ever made is the one that YOU enjoy using and produces the image quality that satifies YOU. |
