Hello to everyone.
I am quite new to the Graflex system and as far as I could understand the Super Graphic does accept only a 90mm wideangle. Since the rear element of the 80XL is so short I was asking you if it could be used on my camera.
Thanks !

The problem with using wide angle lens on the Super series Graphics is not the throat opening of the front standard. The body rail section of the Super series cameras is fixed. Wide angle lens will infinity focus part way on the fixed body rails and part way on the movable bed rails. One would have to focus the lens by unlocking the front standard, moving the standard, then relocking the standard. Another way I've heard of is to use a helical focus mount.

I checked my Super Speed (same camera as the Super Graphic, different label) and the infinity stops for my 100mm WFE are 68mm from the body rails with the bed set to infinity. An 80mm will infinity focus with the front standard half on the bed and half on the body rails. Recessed lens boards are out of the question for the Graphics as the throat opening/ board size would prevent a #0 shutter from fitting if recessed more than a few mm.

See http://www.schneideroptics.com/pdfs/photo/LensCharts.pdf

The lens' flange to film distance is 84.7 mm. Charles, I think you have the right of it.

Massimo, this may be a lens for a 4x5 Pacemaker Speed Graphic, which has longer inner bed rails that are linked to the outer rails.

Thanks so much for the interesting answers!
I understand that I'll have to buy a 90mm instead.
Regards, Max
