I just removed the Focuspot off my Kalart rangefinder, attached incidently to a '47 Pacemaker Speed Graphic. I want to attache the Kalart rangefinder top cover,. Any idea what size machine screw to use. It is not shown in the general parts and repair manual for Pacemakers. It is these little missing pieces that can cause endless hours of searching.
Thank you, |

On the Kalart on my Century it's a 1-72, about 3/32" long. Actually there are two of them, one to hold the cover and the other to serve as a stop. They're flathead with a tall head (i.e., non-tapered, not like a f-h wood screw). Try the hobby shop; you may not find an exact replacement, but you'll probably be able to come up with something that will do. |

Thanks for your reply Henry. The screw for the top cover on my Anniversry Kalart rangefinder was too small for the Kalart cover on my Pacemaker. I ended up at the hardware store with camera in hand and after trying out a couple found a small machine screw that fit. I'm not usually as fortunate looking for camera parts in a the hardware store. My next stop would have been a hobby shop. |
