				| Hi:
I just bought a really nice Crown Graphic on eBay that had a couple of rollfilm backs. Everything works very nicely. I have a question. What is the purpose of the solenoid attached to the shutter? Thanks, Dennis

				| With the flash bulb handle attached and the proper cables, you can push the button on the flash and the solenoid fires (and syncs) the shutter. It was a great idea at the time and still useful for an electric release, or syncing with bulbs. _________________

				| 1. If the lens doesn't have any flash connections, then it synchronizes the shutter with the flash bulb (no electronic synchronization possible)
 or

 2. If there is a sync connection on the lens then it's an easy way to trip the shutter from the battery case of the flash gun.
