I'm trying to attach strap lugs to a 2x3 Crown I'm fixing up and I've run into a problem. For the top lug I was able with a little fiddling to get the bracket that fits on the inside into position, but the bottom lug has defeated me. The front standard or the bellows is always in the way of positioning the bracket. Does anyone have any suggestions for doing this without performing major surgery? The camera itself (bellows etc.) is in fine shape.
Thanks.

Patience, and a long set of angled tweesers.
I've had to hold my pen light between my teeth to see down in that corner sometimes.
you have to get the tips of the threaded backing part just into thier holes. Which means lying the camera body on its side. Once in place, you can then stick your finger or appropriate tool in there and press the piece all the way in flush. Then carefully start the screw. I tend to hold that piece in until I have the outer strap bracket screwed in all the way.
I hope this helps.
Also, if you can slide the front standard off the bed rails and move the bellows over without damaging them, you will have more room.
With cameras with a front drop bed capability (which your little Crown will do), leave the front standard in the back, drop the bed, and simply slide the front standard off, so you don't have to stretch the bellows all the way off the front, which can also be done.

Billy,
Roll the yoke back into the body.....pull lens standard off the end of the rails....now with your middle finger, position the screw plate with both pins engaging the 2 holes....allign the strap lug, and screw it into place!
Re-align the lens standard and slide it back onto the rails!
Have a nice day.......Bert
