Focal Plane Shutter needs Adjustments For the speeds... I think it's not set on real speeds... When Shooting in Low speeds like 1/25 it gives density wave like pattern on the neg... Probably the Curtain goes to slow and not at a constant speed... HELP,
Thanks
Could I fix it myself?
Any place in Montreal to fix it?
Should I buy a new speed graphic?
Thx,

Marc-Andre,
You did not state which Speed you have. Speed Graphics were made from 1912 until 1973 in 4 major models.
"can I fix it myself?" Depends on your mechanical abality.
"Any place in Montreal to fix it?" You might stumble across someone that is able to do it.
"Should I buy a new speed graphic?" A lot of people wish they could get a New, factory fresh Speed or Crown. If you mean another one it might have the same problem.
Sooooooooooooooo, the site Search > search for key word= Focal plane shutter > search for all the terms selected > gives 278 posts on 6 pages, a lot to look thru, including this one on the first page.

Now if you have an Anniversary Speed or earlier then I can send you a copy of the Anniversary Speed Manual that I downloaded off the web somewhere but I do not remember where so I cannnot link to it. The focal plane shutter changed very little from the 1912 intorduction thru the 1946 Anniversary.

The slowest speeds (1/30 & 1/50 sec on my Pacemaker Speed) on the Speed Graphic focal plane shutter are obtained by using the largest (full frame) opening in the curtain. There would have to be something very wrong for there to be that much of a density variation in a wave like pattern due to the shutter. It would have to change speed greatly both faster & slower during the travel time across the frame. You don't say which direction the "waves" run. The shutter curtain moves from top to bottom of the camera and the image is upside down on the film plane so the movement of the curtain appears to be from bottom to top of the image.
I would be inclined to suspect some form of processing problem to produce that symptom on the negative rather than a shutter problem.
