I finally got around to signing up for these forums and just wanted to post a "thank you" for the time and effort that everyone's put into the site. A couple months ago I went thru a spell of people giving me old cameras and lenses. Canon and Petri 35mm cameras, some Pentax lenses, a box full of Polaroid gear and most importantly a Crown Graphic with a Polaroid 545 back. It showed a bit of wear, the viewfinder glass is cracked and the shutter release button on the side isn't working but everything else seemed to be functional.
This is the first LF camera I've ever had so it was time to hit the web and see what I could find out about this monster. And before long it became obvious just what a goldmine of information you've been put together here. I was getting questions answered here before I'd even asked them. And eventually it became clear that I had to get my hands on some Polaroid film and try this thing out. With your help, even the first shots I took came out. The second picture shows some blurring at the bottom because I tilted the lensboard, just 'cause I could, you know?
I may never actually shoot negative film in it but that doesn't really matter. It's still great fun to shoot the Polaroids with it occasionally. Now I've got figure out a way to get a flash rigged up on it. And if something stumps me, now I know just where to go to search out the answer.
Thanks again for all the helpful information so far.
