Hi All,
Has anyone ever tried to use a RB67 645 back on a 2x3 Graflex camera? Do you simply use a 6x6 finder mask in the optical finder? I assume you have to cover a small part of the finder. Do you cover the left or right side and how much?
Thanks in advance.

I tried using a couple differnt RB backs in the 6x7 format and found they didn't actually fit the cameras very well, and unless in good condition are prone to light leakage. They didn't fit well on my Century bodies becausethey would not mate flush withthe back. The body of the film inserty I believe it was touched. I thoughtthis to be one source of light leakage. Others think they work very good. I sold mine as the Graflex models are lighter for backpacking anyway.
You can tape your finder, or if familiar with your stuff, just know what you are framing... On the GG you can mark it with pencil and there you go.
Also, you might set your camera up on a tripod and make sure what you see inthefinders is waht you see on the GG.
The open wire pop up sports finder should offer a smaller image frame than what the film plane will see. I used to like the Optical finder and have since switched to using the open finders for most handheld stuff. Check your paralax. The Crown and speed have markings to take thisinto account, but not the Century. Regardless, I found shooting a bit loose and giving the camera a little extra paralax correction has been better. Just my opinions though. Always check things out. These cameras require a lot more correction than a TLR. The tubular optical finders also take into account being mounted to the side. Again, leaving a bitof room for cropping later has been helpful rather than chopping thetop of someone's head off etc...
