Flash units, cases, & even side rangefinders were all extra cost options over the base price. The base price varied depending on the time frame and the lens selected. Early on (Top handle speeds) you could get the camera without a lens or buy your own lens and have them fit it.
My Nov. '38 price catalog shows the 4x5 Speed Graphic with no less than 18 lenses and prices from $113 (Kodak Anastigmat) to $225 (Plaubel Anticomar).
I think the options shrunk when WWII broke out.
One film holder came with the camera. Plate holders were optional.
Buy the time the Anniversary came out the otpions were not only lenses but shutters too. So buying a speed wasn't that much different than buying a car today! |
