Hello all,

Perhaps this has been covered already, though my search attempts haven't found it. If so, a pointer to the appropriate thread is greatly appreciated.

I picked up a front standard from a pacemaker graphic and took the uprights and mounted it on my Anniversary Speed Graphic so that I could use what bit of tilt that provides. I have two sets of the older anniversary style infinity stops on my camera currently - one is set for my 127/4.7 & one is set for my B&L Tessar 5x7 Series IIB F/6.3 (8 1/3" equivalent major sweetness) barrel lens. So far everything seems to be working fine (and I have saved all of the original parts to be able to put it back in stock condition). Bit touchy about where everything is placed to close it up, but that's to be expected.

So now I am curious if a) the folding infinity stops of the pacemaker and later graphics will work with this modification and b) if there really is anything to be gained by using them? The main reason I am curious is that, of late, I have added a (roughly) 165mm/7.7 B&L Rapid Rectilinear in a Kodak ball bearing shutter from a Model 3A 122 format camera. It appears to work well enough that I'd not mind adding stops for it as well, however that's not possible with the Anniversary style as one set is pointed forwards the other is pointing, normally, to the rear & there is no way, I can see, to put a third set in between

If it's not possible, it's not that big a deal - I already have the proper place to rack out the lens for infinity marked on the bed based on the rear stops and pulling the slightly longer lens forward. OTOH, if it _is_ possible, well, it's fun to hack these old sweethearts...

Heck, I'd rather have a RF I could easily adjust to all three lenses than anything else. But with a Hugo Meyer, well, I'd just be glad if I can eventually get the 5" it was made for to work...

Well the short answer is no. Pacemaker stops set in a groove in the rails that doesn't exist on the Anny, and I'm not sure that you can swap out Pacemaker rails and Anny rails.

OTH, If you aren't using either a focus scale or the rangefinder you don't need stops.

Ok, that's about what I figured & I thought I remembered reading here.

I do use the scale that came with it for the 127 & I've made a scale for the Tessar. I do tend to use the camer handheld alot with those so that's why I stick to the stops. Plus I keep puttering with the Hugo in the hope that I can get it and the 127 to agree again as that would be very handy.

Thanks!

William
