Hi all, I'm hoping someone here can please shed some light on something of a mystery camera.
My father was very interested in his photography, and I've just found this camera in a box of development tanks. I had no idea it was even in there...
It's in pieces at the moment but it appears as though most of the screws are probably still there as they've been wrapped in masking tape and stuck to the item they were probably holding together.
I've no idea how to post links in here properly but here are a couple of photos I just took of it.

I was expecting to find a set of bellows with it but they're no-where to be found. Instead, I accidentally stumbled across a shutter device that flicks into an open-ended box (see left hand side of image 1669) - there is a little silver tab sticking out the side.
It appears to be 3.25 x 4.25 format.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Kind Regards
Darcy

| Darcy, it looks like the remains of a 2x3 Pacemaker Speed Graphic. Measure the ground glass to check the size. The ground glass seems too, um, long to be 3x4.
The "shutter device that flicks into an open-ended box (see left hand side of image 1669)" is a viewing hood that pops into the focusing panel. The focusing panel looks incomplete; for sure the clips etc. that retain the GG are missing, and I don't see how it is held to the back.
Cheers,

It's a Pacemaker Speed Graphic, either 3x4 or more probably 2x3, made in the 50s to early 60s. The parts in the box are to the rangefinder that was removed. The back however is a late version of the Graflex back and one of the film holders is a Graflex Film Magazine or Bag Mag.
If you turn the camera to the other side, and look at the top (the side with the sheetmetal bracket that the viewfinder slips into) you'll feel/see a bump. Push down on the bump while pushing in the door slightly and the bed /door should open up to find the bellows and hopefully, a lens.

Hi guys, thanks for the tips. I've just got to work but will have another look at it tonight. The magazine was definitely labeled 3 1/4 x 4 1/4. I'm not sure what the single negative "holder" is called but that too was labeled with the same measurements.
I'll try to take another photo tonight of the rest of the parts that are in the box.
It sounds like there's a whole other part of camera folded up and hiding in there somewhere! Thanks! I'll post again with my findings. |
