Just wondering if there's anyway to see if a wood style Graflex 4x5 sheet holder has light leaks or not.
I have 10 wood style Graflex ones and 6 Riteway plastic ones.
Now it may have been a fluke but I tried using two of the wood ones and the film came out exposed so they must have let light in.
I haven;t tried any of the other wood ones due to fear of the same thing happening.
The 6 plastic ones are fine for now as I usually don't take more than a dozen shots at a clip right now.
So are the wood ones worthless or can they be saved?
Thanks!
Erick

One way to test without burning film is to load them with paper and leave them out in the light for a few days, then develop the paper to see if there are leaks. You can number the sheets before loading and number each side of the holders to see where any problems are.

As long as the wood holders have all their parts they are repairable.

A common source of light leaks is worn-out hinge tape. This is easily repaired and detailed in other areas of this site.
