While examining my recently-acquired Century Graphic (with Graflok back) I noticed, while changing from the focusing panel back to the roll holder that the upper stop (on the camera body) for the focusing panel had come off and was rattling around inside the camera. The lower one is still intact.
Is this item something that should be glued on, or machine-fitted (by flattening out the top of the two mounting studs after installation? Things seem to work well once it's installed in either focusing or shooting mode, but something that small will easily get lost outside.
One more question.....without having a fresnel screen installed on the focusing panel, should the focus agree between the ground glass and the film plane (using a Graphic 23 back)?
Thanks in advance,

I'm not a Century owner/user but I believe what you are refering to are the shafts of rivets who's heads have broken off. See this previous post:

Whether a fresnel, ektalite screen in Graflex speak, is used or not the ground glass should be positioned at the film plane for correct focus. If adding a fresnel between the lens and ground glass on a Graflex Corp. camera and it was not equiped with a fresnel from the factory then special modifications must be made. If the camera came from the factory with a fresnel and it is now removed then the ground glass must be shimed to origional height above the mount bosses so that it will be at the film plane.
To derermine if all is correct:
1. remove back from camera.
2. Insert film holder with scrap piece of film installed and remove the darkslide.
3. Lay a srtaight edge across the back and attach another perpendicular to it so that it touches the surface of the film in the holder. Check distance at several points.
4. Remove film holder and place straight edge guage from previous step in same place on back. Perpendicular straight edge should just touch the ground glass as it touched the film.
5. Add or remove shims as needed to correct for ground glass being out of position.
A. Divide the film area into six or nine parts and check film/ground glass depth in each part to ensure flatness.
