I would like to learn more about the camera I have.

I have a Graflex, "Super Graphic", No.857935. It has a "plate" that reads:

   Camera, Still Picture, KE-12B

   Part No. 40326G2

   SINGER/Graflex Division

   CONTR.NO.F42600-70-C-2609

   F.S.N.6720-168-3161

   US

It has a Graflex Optar f/4.7 135mm Lens with a "GRAPHEX, Full Syncchromatic by Wollensac for Graflex Inc." shutter.

The camera is complete and in Mint condition. |

Someone else surely knows more than I about the Supers, but for now I can tell you it was designated for the military based on the numbers you have listed. It was probably released as surplus at some time.

Sounds like a nice find.

Look around on this site through the different model history sections and you may find some info regarding dates of manufacture.

Well there's not a whole lot more that can be found out.

It's a Super Graphic that got drafted. FSN might mean Navy, but unless you want to pitch a tent in Washington DC to go through the National Archives, Library of Congress, and several military depots looking for those few documents that can decode the contract number, etc.,

I can't think of anything else to know.

Except for the plate, there's no difference between a civilian and a military Super.

				FSN is Federal Serial Number.

This is a Super bought by the Army of Air Force.

I know a guy who bough one at a surplus sale for $5 a pound. No battery door, but at that price he can live with it.
