Hi All.
This is such a silly question I'm sure somebody's asked it before, but I tried searching, but couldn't find anything (I'm not all that good at searching). I have a pre-anny speed that I've mounted a 150mm Symmar on, mounted in a Compur #1 shutter. The question I have is this: There are 2 ways I can keep the front leaf shutter open, either by setting it to T, or by using the 'press to focus' button, is one method better than the other? Thanks!

I've used both methods, depending on the shutter (many do not have a press-focus setting), and I don't think one is better than the other. Whichever you use, I think it's a very good idea to close the shutter after the shooting session -- and, if it's the kind that requires you to set the shutter and then release it while holding down the press-focus control (like the Kodak "Supermatic"), after you've reset the tension-lever to close the shutter, it's well to release it, so the spring is not compressed while the shutter is waiting to be used again. |

In my case it depends on the shutter.
The dial-set Compur that the 15cm Skopar is in has no press focus, so I set it to T.
The Graphex that the 127mm Ektar is in has a press focus, so I use it.
The rim-set Compur holding the 13.5cm Tessar has a little fold-down lever that holds the shutter open after it is fired, and I use that.
I guess that covers all the bases.
