				| You may have seen the well known image of Weegee with his Speed Graphic & flashgun. he's holding it two handed with a cigar in the corner of his mouth.I think the image dates from 1944.

Well the camera made me look closer.
I may be wrong but it looks like a late pre-anniversary model. The rear part of the sports finder has no 'slot' in it.
Were there any pre-anniversary S.G.s with a non rounded wire frame sports viewfinder?
The case of the camera has the pin stripe lining.

I'm not sure what you mean by the rear sight has no "slot".

This is an Anny, but a confused one. The rear peepsight is correct for Anny's from '40-'41, the slider on the front however LOOKS like it has black italic letters rather than silver block letters on a black field---the italic letters are from a late Anny-post 45 or so.

If you do a good search on Weegee, you see that he used all three major models of Speeds.....Pre-Ann, Ann and Pace

				| The photograph is a bit bleached out in the area of the front lens board. However the only Anniversaries I have seen had the later version of rear peep sight. obviously Graflex used up their exisiting inventory of peep sights.
