What enlagers are out there that support the 6x9 negative? It seems that the medium format ones only cover up to 6x7. I would prefer to buy a used one. I'll be using it for black and white mostly but would like the option of a changable light source.

The only solution I've found (I don't have a 6x9 back, but a classmate at school had a Crown Graphic and 23 back) is to use a 4x5 enlarger, and make a custom negative carrier out of mat board.

I don't know which enlargers you have looked at, but try the Beseler 23C III. Does all of what you want, plentiful, and cheap.

I use a Kodak Precision Enlarger for 6X9 with good results. Different condensers are available for different lenses. In fact, I have two of them. Lenses are easy to change. I use a 50mm Ektar and 2" condenser for 35mm...3" condenser and 75mm Ektar for 6X6 and 6X7...and 4" condenser and 90mm Raptar for 6X9. Bought'em cheap. If you want to know more, leave me a private message. Fred.

Obviously anything bigger [4x5 etc] with the right negative carrier. Plus the Beseler 23. The 23 standing for 2"x3". Either are relatively common on Ebay.

Personally I'd look for a 4x5.

I think the hottest deal going on used enlargers right now are the Omega D-2 (or D-ll if you don't mind the push-pull thing) Buy it cheap with as many goodies as you can get for it. If you get the variable condenser model you can practically 'do it all.'--Cheers!
