Hi, It has been a while since I posted here. Getting to know my Crown better all the time. As I can't use it right now because I sent the lens/shutter to Fred Lustig for CLA, I thought I'd detail it a bit. My question is this: I know I haveone of the very last Crown Graphics (based on serial #), were they still using leather to cover the body at that point? Should I use a premium leather cleaner / conditioner or should I use something for vinyl? Thanks in advance. Philip

Lemon pledge seems to be popular here. That's what I use, both on the covering and on the bellows.

The covering is vinyl...very high quality at that. I believe Graflex switched from leather to vinyl in 1955 - at the point when rangefinders were top mount (versus side mount in prior years) on 4 X 5 models.

Thanks for the info... I was suspected it was vinyl but wasn't sure. So I guess instead of Lexol its Lemon Pleadge. Thanks again. Philip
