My side mounted rangefinder needs help. The arm does not contact the corresponding part of the bellows, and hence does not work. Anyone out there who can help me fix it?

Side RF's, Kalart or Hugo Mayer, connected to the focus rails by varrious means. The camera will determine in part what type of rail connection is used. Please state type of camera and rangefinder.

Crown Graphic, Serial 871156, rangefinder just says "Synchronized Range Finder" in white letters on the front and a serial number "D23455" stamped on the back. The mechanism appears to be a rotating axis near the top of the camera connecting to a flat "blade" of about 5" with a dogleg about 1" from the end. It looks like it is supposed to push against a protusion from the bellows. The problem is it seems to conflict with the bracket the supports the bellows "bed".

The end of the rangefinder arm should contact a bracket mounted on the bed rail. Sounds like this may be missing on your camera, or else the arm is bent.

The bent arm looks original but does look like it should be bent in some other direction. There is a round "screw-head" sticking from the side of the bed....Played with it some more and now it does make contact. doesn't match the ground glass, tho. Using a Schneider-Kreuznach Xenar 135mm f4.7.

The screw head is on a eccentric and is part of the system to adjust the rangefinder to infinity. This maybe why the rangefinder no longer agrees with the ground glass, but I suspect it istn't the only reason. I'll try to post a photo of my Side rangefinder Pacemaker tomorrow

I have instructions and the instruction book photo of the camera bed showing the "cam" on the bed that the arm tracks against!
