Hi Folks!

I'm busy disassembling an R.B. Auto for restoration. Several of the knurled adjustment knobs are held on their shafts with VERY tiny brass (?) pins.

Does anyone have any ideas / tips on driving these little guys out safely? Seems to me that even a small bit of hammering with a drift pin could NOT be good for the camera!

Thanks!

CR

According to the "Godfather? of reflex": Check both ends of the pins carefully, some are tapered! Find the smallest end and position the knob or key so that the small end of the pin is up or in easy acess. Next make and place a support block under the shaft/knob with a slot for the pin to go into. Using a pin punch and mallet tap the pin out. A penetrant may be necesary if rust is involved.

the small end of the taper pin is >always< on the bottom of the mirror cocking lever!

Hi, Fellas - Thanks for your input!

Bert - I think I asked you about this awhile ago, but I'm about to grab my sledge & driftpin so I thought it prudent to check 'just once more'

Cheers!
