I've been looking for a new tripod, and would like one that will hold my Crown Graphic, as well as my other, smaller cameras. Per my own scale, the Crown only weighs about five pounds, and at that weight, a Bogen/Manfrotto 3021 would seem to work well (spec'd to hold over 13 lbs). How have others on this august forum dealt with this need?

Thanks in advance!

I almost went for a 3021 myself until I realised that I was also going 8x10... Then the 3051 became the object of interest. But I have a thing for wood, so I finally gave up looking for used and bought a Berlebach (2042 I think). Good for 26 pounds and nice!
But for a Crown, just about any decent tripod will work unless you like long lenses...

I've used the 3021 for years with my Crown, I also use it for the Hassy and "miniature camera" work.

I have the joystick head on it, and it's great , But for a true view camera---GV, Cambo, Sinar P2, etc I'd go bigger and with the new mini geared head.

Another vote for the 3021 (actually, I have the 3221, with the foam shoulder pads, foot spikes, and black finish, but it's the same legs.) Nice, reasonably compact, and $203 (head included) from Calumet.

Another possibility is the Slik 700DX Pro. I compared it to several similar Bogen and Gitzo models and found it to be less expensive, the legs went slightly taller and it was also more stable. It comes with a nice pan/tilt head with QR and the mail order price is about $160. I bought mine about 3 years ago for about $130 on sale.
