Is there anything online that will help me with focal plane shutter repair, specifically curtain replacement? I've got a D that has a curtain with a melted coating and it needs to be replaced. Other than that the shutter works fine.

i'm not aware of any specific places on the web that can help with this, but i do remember reading some time ago that fred lustig is now capable of doing such repairs.
he's a very knowledgeable & capable gentleman in such matters. he has many necessary graflex parts to work with. he recently overhauled my crown graphic back as close as humanly possible to its pristine 1953 condition; he requested i send him the camera, #2773 flash handle & sync cable and he took care of the rest. i had the camera back to me on the east coast within 3 weeks. Best perhaps to give him a call and see what he says. he is a corporate executive by vocation and travels quite a bit so i don't know about his availability, but just keep trying....it might be well worth it......

m_henry and I have exchanged emails on the fabrication of a new curtain for his D model Graflex, I have made up a sketch, and gave him a suggested materials and tools he will need for the process, and given him info on sources for curtain material and Moroccan leather, and of coarse the usual question/answer exchange!
Looks like he is going to tackle the project, he has the camera torn down, and has begun the restoration process! Will take a while for him to get the materials needed, but will try to keep you updated on his progress! Bert
