Just picked up a Pacemaker Crown (902762) 4x5 with the above lens. I have not been able to find any info on this lens, none at all. Has anyone had any experience with or has anyone even heard of this lens?
thanks

I saw your squawk on the LF forum re Google's inability to find an answer to y'r question.
We must be using different Googles or you don't know enough to make sense of the URLs Google returned when asked to look for "Doppel-Anastigmat Verida" or you made the same typo with Google that you did here.
If you'd run this query http://www.google.com/search?q=Doppel-Anastigmat+Verida&hl=en&num=100&lr=&ft=i&cr=&safe=images&tbs= you'd have found a number of links that make it clear that a lens named Verida was used on 9x12 IHAGEE folding (Klapp) cameras.
Two f/6.8 double anastigmat designs were widely used in the '30s. Dialyte (4 elements in 4 groups, if the lens is a dialyte you'll see 4 strong reflections and no weak ones from each cell) and dagor (6 elements in 2 groups, if it is a dagor type you'll see two strong reflections and one weak on, possibly very hard to see, from each cell).
The lens certainly wasn't contemporary with or original issue for your 4x5 Crown. If you want to know how well it shoots, ask it, not us. |
