I have just found this Mini Speed Graphic and it came with a roll back. I cannot get 120 film to work. Can someone help me with what size film to use? thanks

I never saw anything like it. If you measure the distance in inches between the spool ends, I could probably come up with a roll film number---not that it would do you much good, since only 120 is in "mass" production today (there are a very few other old sizes available from B&H Photo in NYC).
Kodak produced about 30 different sizes of roll film at one time or another. Some of these were simply the same film respooled (e.g., 620=120, 616=116), but others were distinctive. (information gathered from "Collectors Guide to Kodak Cameras," by Jim and Joan McKeown, 1981) |

Thanks Henry. I figured as much. I know I can buy a couple of 2 x 3 sheet holders to use the camera, but I was hoping to be able to use the roll back.
I found this little outfit on eBay with two lens and a case for $100. Couldn't pass it up. _________________ Durr |

the front standard isn't a standard front. For that matter neither is the rear peep sight. (it's taller and squarer than normal) It seems somebody added some features but the resolution is too low to figure out. I also can't see into the roll film holder to figure it out. There are bright patches that are either springs or ??? The spool on the right seems to be smaller than the spool on the left. Also the whole film area seems to be shorter than a typical 120 back. Could this be a back to hold 828 film for Kodachrome? (828 is 35mm unperforated) _________________ "In order to invent, you need a good imagination and a lot of junk" Thomas Edison |

You are all right. I will post more detailed photos later today. I have two lenses for it. Are they just for that format or can they be used on a 4 x 5?
I am a newbie to LF and want to figure it out. Thanks for any and all help. _________________ Durr |

It will depend on the lens. I've seen lenses sold with 4x5 cameras that wouldn't cover because they used them with a roll back. _________________ "In order to invent, you need a good imagination and a lot of junk" Thomas Edison |

Also there's a cam/ramp on the rails that moves something on the standard, and over-engineered parallax control? _________________ "In order to invent, you need a good imagination and a lot of junk" Thomas Edison |

Well, it's definitely a Miniature Speed Graphic with a Graflok Back. You can at least use Graphic Roll Film Holders for 2x3 cameras or Mamiya RB67 RFH. Pictures like these of the front standard and lens will help also. _________________ The best camera ever made is the one that YOU enjoy using and produces the image quality that satifies YOU. |

The small spool looks like an 828 spool to me, thought the take up reel /spindle has me baffled. The Graflok back has me baffled, never seen those sliders before.
Neither of the lenses will cover 4x5, the 10.5 is the standard lens for the Mini Speed, the 5 cm lens covers 35mm or 828 format. _________________ "In order to invent, you need a good imagination and a lot of junk" Thomas Edison |

Could be 828, which was introduced by Kodak in the '50s IIRC, but in view of the apparent vintage of the camera, I'd guess that it is one of smaller roll film sizes like 127, which is available from B&H. Again I ask OP for the measurement between spool ends and I can probably answer. |
