My Pacemaker Speed's groundglass sunshade (I've forgotten if there is a techincal term) is misbehaving. It popped apart on release, and now it folds up only with some extra pressure. I was able to reassemble it with the tiny tabs in their apparently correct location, and it functions correctly when extended. However, as I said, it only folds with more force than feels right. It also flys apart when extending it, and needs to be manually reassembled each time. I don't see anything bent or misplaced.

I figured it out. Facing the back of the camera, on the hinge of the shade at the top side, opposite the silver release button, there are two teeth at the far ends of the hinge. They are not part of the hinge itself, and appear to function as stops. These had bent. Judicious application of a pliers solved the problem, although I overdid it a bit, as now they open with less spring. |

Joshua;
Thanks for reporting the fix you found to your problem.
If this practice was the norm on these forums it would be a help to those who experience a problem similar to an earlier reported one at a later date.
