I lost the little lever that is in the shape of an L with a screw on it, which works with the shutter release. It slips onto the long slim bar on the right side of the lensboard receptical and its job is to trip the lever on the lens shutter. The bar goes up and down when you fire the camera from the body trigger. The device comes down as you push in on the shutter body release, and trips the shutter.

I have been using a cable release since losing it. Does anyone have one ******* or do you know where I can get one? I tried calling a Fred Lustig but could not reach anyone at his last know home phone number.

That thingamajig is called: (part number/name)
31102-P1 Arm-manual trip (#3 shutter)
31102-P3 Arm-manual trip (#2 shutter)
31102-P4 Arm-manual trip (#1 shutter)
and Attaching Parts:
Screw- machine, 1/8 in. lg. , #2-64, oval filister head, slotted, steel, chrome plate. P/n is 107-2-2C.
Don't you just love Graflex jargon?

and good luck finding another one as most take them off as they interfere with lens changing and the body release never worked that well when the cameras were new.

P.S. The shutter numbers refer to shutters made by Graflex.

Also known as a shutter paddle. 13mm length is about right for a 135mm/127mm lens, 19mm length for a 90mm, on a 4x5 that is.

There was one on ebay last week, I think from seller rnovosel.

Cheers,
Bruce

To 45PSS in response to :Don't you just love Graflex jargon?

About 45 years ago, when I was in the Army, I was told to order a box of pencils. I could not find them on the list until I was told they were called:
HAND HELD, MANUAL, INSCRIBER

To Bruser: Is the ebay ad still running? I could not find it for the shutter paddle.

45 years, slightly longer than I've been out of the Air Force, but not by much.

Flashbulbman,

Sorry about that, I guess the shutter paddle sold. Check sellers mmbat, smcmanuals, heffrensbooks and rnovosel for Graphic parts every now and then.

Cheers,
Bruce
