Hello everyone - I have a Graflex xlsw and am using the 47mm f:8 lens. I am using it without a spacer and find that if I attached a slim b+w 40.5mm uv filter I get a visible vignetting on the corners when shooting at f:22. There is no vignetting when I shoot the same situation without a filter but I am using the camera in the field and would like to protect the front element. I also want to use an ND filter for another shot but need to find a solution. I am thinking of getting a step-up ring 40.5 -46mm but thought I would ask for suggestions on the best solution.

In advance, I very much appreciate any advice you can offer.

Jeffrey

Jeffrey;

I assume you are using a screw in filter, if so, you might solve this problem by using a press on adapter ring and Series VII or larger filters instead of the screw in ones. That might just give enough more clearance for the edges of the image circle.

Thank you for the suggestion about a slip-on filter holder as well the reference in the XL catalog.
