I bought 6X9 back fo my camera and I really like it. But I think with proper incert I can better frame my shots. Does anybody know which incert number I need for 6X9,there is a quite a number of different ones on big auction site lately.

Thanks in advance

Greg

The mask you need depends on the focal length you use as well as on the format.

Suggest that you spend some time looking around on this site. Start with the site map.

Thanks Dan
I guess it makes sense that incerts are related to lens used and the format. When I bought my roll film back I got the insert with it.But when I developed the film my field of view was much larger then 6X9 I was shutting.Maybe the incert was meant for a 150mm lens instead 135 I was using?

Greg, what number is yours? Take it out and look and you'll see a number stamped on it.

You may have the one recommended for your 135 and be misusing it. Your mask should have four little points facing in. Their tips define the area your lens will see. Use them, not the full mask, for framing.

Good luck, have fun,

Dan

And for closeup work, always focus and compose on the ground glass.

Thanks Dan
Yea it looks like #8 stamped on it, definitely not for 6X9. I think I need #10 according to this site.
