I have a couple speed graphics that could use some paint help on the graflocks. I would like to match it as closely as possible. Other than don't try it, does anyone have suggestions of a paint?? Thanks.. Jeff |

The closest match as far as sheen goes that I have found is Krylon Semi Flat black in the spray can. A very good match. Not too glossy and not too flat. It's a fairly new product. If you need to fix any of the textured paints of the era, I don't know what would match.

If you do a search on the forums for paint (and maybe 'black') you'll find some in-depth discussions on different paints and matching, and techniques. We went around the subject last year or so.
For small touch-ups, I just use a small bottle of the same flat black that I use for inside the cameras and lens boards. Not the best, but works.
For the large areas and reconditioning, you can get spray wrinkle paint that very closely matches the original finish. But you really have to remove the parts and strip them down for that...

I created a posting on this subject a year or two ago. I will bring it up to the front so you won't have to search for it. Who knows....maybe someone has come up with a new idea since then. JP Mose |
