I have a baby speed with the standard Graphic back.
Does anyone have any ideals on fastening rollfilm holders? using rubberbands looks dumb!

Thanks! Jack

...but it might work!

If you'll rummage around on this board, you'll find a good deal of discussion. Graflex made an adapter for the purpose, and others have made their own versions. The idea is to remove the focusing panel, then use the two screws to attach flanges or tabs that drop down into the slot in the rollfilm holder that normally would receive the two slides of a "Graflok" back.

These flanges or tabs take some thinking about, if you're designing them for the miniature "Speed," because (as an Austrian contributor pointed out) the wind knob and other components of the rollfilm holder want to interfere with your getting at the upper screw.

If you search around this site, you should find a description of the official Graflex-made roll holder holder for Graphic backs. I believe there've also been discussions about how to make one. The device replaces the focusing panel and springs that hold it. Big limitation is that using it makes focusing on the ground glass impossible, i.e., restricts you to one lens and your range finder had better be set up for it, and well.

Alternatively, get an Adapt-A-Roll 620 and don't look back.

Cheers,

Dan
